Abstract Lymphoma are a form of cancer arising in lymph nodes or other lymphoid tissues as the tonsils, thymus, or Peyer’s patches. Malignant lymphomas are neoplasms of the immune system. Lymphomas are divided into two broad categories, Hodgkin’s disease (H.D) and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma NHL. Hodgkin’s disease (H.D) is a lymphoproliferative disease that is thought by most authorities to represent a neoplastic proliferation of malignant cells called Reed-Sternberg cells. The rye subclassification (1966) now widely accepted and employed by both pathologists and clinicians divides Hodgkin’s disease into four subgroups are:I - Lymphocyte-predominant H.D. 2- Nodular sclerosis H.D. 3- Mixed cellularity H.D. 4- Lymphocyte depleted H.D. |
