Abstract A substantial work has been done on the prostatic gland, particularly on the surgical approaches for the purpose of prostatic adenectomy in views of’ achieving the most appropriate outcome. For achieving the purpose of this study, 100 patients with senile prostatic enlargement have been operated upon using three different approaches (retro— pubic, trnsurethral resection and transverical pros’ta— tectomy). The patients were subjected to clinical interrogation, urine and blood analysis, radiological investigation and screening uroflowmetery pre—operatively. In the course of post--operqtive follow up, another urine analysis, uroflowmetric studies and radiological examination has been conducted to assess the prostatic cavity. However, very little work was done as far as the fate of the prostatic cavity is concerned. |
