Abstract

[12:41 PM, 3/5/2024] Menan Saber: The present study focuses on evaluating the role of treatment with different antioxidants including lipid soluble vitamin (alpha tocopherol), water soluble vitamin(ascorbic acid) and metalloenzyme antioxidarit (zinc sulfat) against celluler damaged caused during aging in 15 month aged mice. Also study the effect of dialy antioxidant administration for 3 month on adult normal mice.
After one month of dialy oral administration of these antioxidants the animals were decapitated and dissected for excistion of the liver, kidney and testis for light and electron microscopic study. Using special stains like PAS for demonstration of carbohydrates and bromophenol blue for localization of protein contents.
The present study revealed that free radicals formation with aging caused histological and histochemical disturbance in the mice tissue represented by decline glycogen, protein contents and tissue damage in the liver, kidney and testis.Histopathological studies showed complete loss of the hepatic architecture, damaged uriniferous tubules and abnormal glomeruli in aged kidney and complete disorganized

seminiferous tubules with abnormal spermatogenesis These damages were also, clear in cell organelles like damaged mitochondrial cristae and fragmented rough endoplasmic reticulum in the liver and kidney cells.
The treatment with vitamin E, vitamin C and zine singly in doses equivalent to humen therapeutic dose resulted in pronounced improvement in most histological and histochemical features which highlighted the usefulness of these therapies in restoring the aged organ activity.
In contrast, The treatment of adult animals with some of these antioxidants, like zinc and vitamin E, without any stress causing clear harm for some of their tissues.
In conclusion, antioxidents supplementation must be taken under certain disease or oxidative stress like aging.
