Abstract
One of the most important drawbacks for the international marketing is the lack of colour homogeneity of some Egyptian cotton fabric that due to use different cotton varieties in one fabric.
For all these issues, the present work is undertaken with viewpoints:
from three Egyptian cotton varieties namely Giza 85, Giza 86
and Giza70 of corp. season (2001-2002) (1) In pretreatment: pretreatment of some Egyptian cotton varieties by two types of scouring (2) In reactive dyes: dyeing some Egyptian cotton varieties
The present work is under taken the following studies: -
(1) Pretreatment processes:
1- Scouring
A) By nonionic scouring
B) By anionic scouring
(2) In reactive dyeing:
A) Dyeing all cotton varieties scoured by nonionic and anionic scouring in one dyeing bath
B) Dyeing every yarn count of cotton varieties scoured by nonionic and anionic scouring in separated dyeing bath
C) Using different concentration of leveling agent in
dyeing bathes
1- Using one dye 2- Using two mixed dyes
2- Using two mixed dyes
The final results of this study showed that the change in cotton varieties leads to change in the dye uptake.
By using suitable concentration of leveling agent, good and imposable results can be achieved by improving the dye affinity.
Also the mechanical properties of cotton varieties can be improved by blending a cotton has high mechanical properties to anther cotton variety has low mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation %.
