Abstract

The present work aimed to the upgrading of agriculture wastes by whits rot fungi The choice of this study was based on the high area which is usually cultivated to produce animal feed in Egypt (about 25 % from the total caltivated area) as well as other countriss. The study included five parts. 1. The odllection, isolation and identification of the white-rot fungi from different hcalitks in the middle of D e l t a regbn in Egypt. 2. Screening of the collected w h i t e - r o t fungi for their abn for biodegradtbn of polymeric dyes. 3. screening of their ability for the production of laccase enzyme in the presence and absence of inducer. 4. the study of biochemical changes which occured during SSF of wheat, rice and cotton straw by whiterot fungi using different methods of pretreatment. 5. Detection of cellulolytic, hemicelhhlytz and ligninal* enzymes produced from white-rot fungi in liquid medium as well as during solid state fermentation. 6. Isolation of lignin from the fermented and unfermented straw for the prupose of detecting the effect of the studied fungi on the functional groups of hgnin. Whke-rot fungi w a s colhcted from 10 locditks located at Delta region in Egypt. from El-Behera governorate these were Dammnhor, Eta. El-Barod, Hosh Easa, Rashid, Edko, El-Hah modja, El-Rahmania and Ah Homous. Tanta and Desok were chosen from Gharbia and Kafr El-Shiek governorates respectively. The collected fungi were isolated and cultivated in pure cultures. The identification w a s applied using information from pure c-ures and from fruit bodies.
