Abstract Diabetes is a major health problem in many countries including Egypt . Histochemical and cytochemical studies have been proved to play important role in the diagnosis and prognosis of many diseases .The present work was designed to study the changes of PAS and MPo activities in peripheral blood (lymphocytes & Neutrophils) respectively in diabetic patients.This study was carried out on the following groups : 1 - Control group consisted of twenty healthy persons as a reference group .2- Twenty Diabetic patients with at least 2 year diseased .3- Twenty diabetic patients ( Newly diagnosed ) 4- Ten diabetic patients with complication .5- Ten Controlled diabetic patients .Besides the careful history taking , complete clinical examination and routin investigation ( as fasting and 2 hours post prandial blood sugar level ) all the studied groups were subjected to the following : 1 - Glycosylated hemoglobin concentration .2- Study of glycogen lymphocyte.3- MPo activity in neutrophilic granulocytes . |
