Abstract Recent stuhes have shown that more than one hd of patients with cancer have pain at time of dagnosis of their cancer, and that more than two thirds of patients with advanced cancer have sever pain. Pain associated with cancer is frequently under-treated because of lack of knowledge by clinician about effective assessment and management , negative attitude of patients and clinicians toward pain relief, and a variety of problems related to drug regulation. Cancer pain may be due to: 1. Tumor progression and related pathology, 2. Operations and other invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, 3. Toxicity’s of chemotherapy and radiation, 5. mfection, and 6. Muscle aches when patients limit physical activity. |
