Abstract Most clinicians agree that the ideal non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent should have a rapid onset, short duration of action, no cumulation on repeated adminstration, should be easily reversed and its pharmacodynamic effects should be limited to the neuromuscular blockade with no cardiovascular or other side effects. In attempting to reach these goals, numerous drugs have been synthesized and several maneuvers have been utilized, the more recently it is the use of combination of two nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents. |
