Abstract CT scanning and endoscopic evaluation of sinus disease allow a characterization of pathoiogic conditions in the middle meatus.In ths study, the aim of this work was to define CT scan findings in twenty patients with chronic sinusitis after previous unsuccessful sinus surgery.These twenty patients presented with different pictures of recurrent sinusitis, 16 patients had mainly nasal obstruction, 13 patients had headache,12 patients had nasal and post-nasal discharge and 9 patients had facial pain as well as pressure feeling.CT scans were reviewed for the 3 8 sides operated on to determine the prevalence of distribution of recurrent inflammatory disease in patients who had undergone previous unsuccessful sinus surgery. In interpreting the radiologic findings, particular attention was paid to the area of the mfundibulum, frontal recess, anterior ethmoid and maxillary sinus ostiurn(osteomeatal unit). |
