Abstract Four methods for diagnosis of diseases of lymphnodes were made prformed in this work, and correlative study between them was The first is fine needle aspiration cytology. Tbree techniques were used: 10 cm disposable plastic syringe, Aspir -Gun, and intravenous tubing connecting aplastic syringe (10cm) t o the needle : 8-gaupe needle was used i n the three techniques. Fixation in 95% ethyl elcohol was rapidly used followed by hematoxylin and eosin, and Papanicolaou staining . Air - drying followed by Geimsa staining was used in preparation of smears in some cases. This technique was performed in 147 patients suffering from superficial lymphadenopathy in various clinical sites , of’ various ages i n both sexes. In 3 cases the mass was not lymph node, in 7 cases the aspirate was unsatisfactory, 12 cases had a suggestive diagnosis, 120 cases had a correct diagnosis. |
