Abstract
It is a heterogenous primary disorder of carbohydrate metabolism with multiple etiologic factors, that generally involve absolute or relative insulin deficiency or insullin resistance or both. All causes of diabetes ultimately lead hyperglycemia which is the hallmark of this diseases syndrome.
