Abstract

In pediatric anesthesia, the childerns airway usually represents the most important and the most ineecure factor from the first loss of consciousness throughout the entire operation and wellito the recovery period. the size of endotracheal tube is the most critical aspect in psdiatric anesthesia. Children are mere liableto develop kryngeal edema and postextubetion granulomas following intubation by a tube having alarger size than the optimal one. Several formulae to determine the proper tube diameter have been suggested and prove useful in some cases. An attempt vias made in the pxesent study to confirm the vdidity of the method of the choice of endotracheal tube size for pediatric patients as guided by the diameter of the distal joint of the little finger.
