Abstract
A study was planed to investigate the heterosis effects) heritability and nature of gene effects in feeding barly at the research station, Paculty of Agriculture, Tanta University, Kafr El-Sheikh, - Egypt. The genetic materials used in the present study included nine genotypes of burley Hordeum vulgar0 ssp hexustionL,. namely the cultivers Giza 119, Giza 120, C.C. 89, C,C. 163 and five bred l i n e s XG. 30, AG. 2, As. 6, AG. 5 and AG. 95/10, Six crosses were made as follows: 1- Giza 119 x AG, 30 2- C.C. 163 x AG, 2 3- Giza 120 x 83, 6 4- C.C. 163 X AG. 5 5- Giza ll9 x AGO 95/10 6- C.C. 89 x AC- 30.
