Abstract Mosquitoes are .still the world t s number one vector of human and animal diseases, they are conspicuous nuisance pests even after massive efforts of eradication. In Egypt, where large area cultivated with rice plants and as a result of the little attention to the drainage system in country side, very suitable sites for mosquito breeding in great numbers are available. Kafr EI-Sheikh province is considered to be one of the most important provinces for rice cultivation in A.R.E. therefore mosquitoes are one of greatest problem in the area and Culex pipiens (L.) is the most widespread species. Thus, this study was carried out to detect the population density of the different stages of Culex pipiens (L.) through the year. |
