Abstract
Isolation experiments were carried out to survey and to study the brown spot diseases occurring on rice plants in six rice growing Governorates narnely Behera, Kafr El- Sheikh, Ghdrbia, Ddcahlia, Damiett a and Shzrkia. Differeni species of Helminthosporium namely Cochliobolus miyabeanu: ( Ito & Kurib.) Drechsler ex Dastur, the perfect stage of Helminthosporium oryzae Breda de Haan, Drechslera hawei: sis (Bungnicourt) Subran & Jain and Drechslera rostrata -3 - (Drechsler ) Richardson & Froser were isolated from brown spooted leaves and discolored grains.
