Abstract

This study was carried out at the poultry experimental farm belonging to Department of Animal production. Faculty of Agriculture. Kafr Et-Sheikh , Tanta University during the period from December 1989 to March 1991. It aimed to investigate the possibility of incorporating dried sugar beet pulp (DSBF) in rabbit commercial diets. Experiments were done using New Zealand white growing rabbits (just after weaning) and continued up to the second generation. Four experimental rations were formulated. The control ration contained 15% ground yellow corn, while in the other three rations 33.3, 66.6% and 100% of the corn in the control ration were replaced by DSBP. The four rations containing zero. 7.5. 15 and 22.5’t DSBP, respectively. All rations were as pelleted form (4.0 x 10 mm) and were iso-nitrogenous and iso-caloric on the basis of digestible energy and contained the recommended levels of macro elements.
