Abstract This str-rcly was carried out on sixty leprosy patients and twenty healthy controls, attending the Dermatology and Venereology CIinic of Tanta University Hospital. They were classified into four groups. The first group included 20 tuberculoid leprosy patients , the second group included 20 borderline leprosy patients and the third one included 20 lepromatous leprosy patients and 20 healthy males taken as controls. The aim of this study was to clarify the effect of leprosy on some seminal paramete’rs as rvell as the histopathological and histochemical chitnges of testicular tissue in some azoospermic leprosy patients. All patients and controls were subjected to the following: 1- Detailed history. 2- Complete general examination. 3- Local genital examination. 4- Complete seminogram. Testicular biopsies of 8 azoospermic leprosy patients were taken and were subjected to histopathologicat and histochemical study. from this study, it is concluded that : 1- Testicular involvement occur in the lepromatous leprosy and borderline leprosy patients only. 2- There was no relation between the duration of the disease and the affection of testicular tissue. |
