Abstract
This work was carried out at Sakha Anirnal Experimental Station , Animal Production Research I n s t i t u t e , Ministry of Agriculture, to evaluate the effect of different dietary levels of elephant grass as a green forage during summer time on the performance of friesian bulls and semen characteristics. Twenty four sexually mature f r i e s i a n bulls 2-3 years age on average body weight of 450 kg were used. The animals were alloted according to t h e i r l i v e weight. Yhere elephant grass vms used t o cubstitute different mounts of the totalrequirement as follows : group 1 : 0.0 $ elephant grass (100 1 concentrete an8 rice straw), Grcup 2 : 25 5 elepilant gress (75 5; concentrate and rice straw). group 3 : 75 72 elephant grass (25 $A concentrate and rice s t r a w ) . Three d i g e s t i b i l i t y trials were conducted using two adults bulls in each to evaluate the nutritive value of the tested r a t i o n s . The average d i g e s t i b i l i t y coefficients of the various o~ganic nutrients.
