Abstract
This deserbaeion covers a comparative study on the nature of resist;ance (tolerance) in some wheat varieties to leaf and stem rusts, Two eqeriments were carried out for three succesive seasons started from L974/1975 season through 1976/1977 at Sakha Agriculture, Research Station- Each elrperiment belongs to one level of inoculum density in s p l i t plot design w i t h four replicates. The main plots included the varieties while, different $reatments were in the sub plots. The different treatments were artificial, natural infection and chemical control, For stem rust these ewo experiments were carried out f o r one season 1976/1977. All the common culture practices used were followed, The experiments were designed t o detect the influence of the inoculum density, and to find out a suitable indicator to measure the tolerance of different wheat cultivars, furthermore it also an attempt t o explain the nature of resistance to leaf and stem rust w i t h respect to their behaviow in the nature from the epedimiological point of view.
