Abstract Anteparturn haeaorrhage is defined as haemorrhage from the genital tract after 28th week 02 Pregnancy or during the first and the second stage of labour, Antepartum haemorrhage occurs in about 3% of pregnancies. It may be due to : Incidental haemorrhage which may be due to cervical. erosions, carcinoma of the cervix and trauma and Laceration. This type can be diagnosed by bspection of the genital tract. Abruptio placentae which is premature separation of a normally situated placenta after the 28th week of pregnancy and before the birth of the fetus (0.2% - 2.4%). |
