Abstract The genetic materials used in the present study included three exotic varieties of squash viz, White Bush, Blanco, A11 Green Bush and one local variety Eskandarani. A l l varieties are belonging to the species Cucurbita pepo, L. Plants from each variety were selfed for three generations to end up with an inbred line from each variety. Then two groups of genotypes were made. The f i r s t group contained 22 genotypes which included, 4 parents, 12 Fl,s including reciprocals, and 6 F2, s. The second group contained 28 genotypes which included 4 parents, 6 Fl,s, 6 Bel, 6Bc2 and 6 F2,s. The two groups of genotypes were evaluated at the Experimental Farm at Kafr El-Sheikh, Faculty of Agriculture during the summer seasonsof 1983 and 1984, respectively in a randomized complete block design experiment with four replications. The data of 1983 were obtained on mean plot basis for each character in each genotype and that of 198h were obtained on an individual plant basis within each plot of a given genotype. Accordingly, data were presented under two main parts. |
