Abstract

With t h e awful i n c r e a s i n g of human p o p u l a t i o n i n Egypt, it should be s e a r c h about any way t o s o l v e t h e problem of food. Increa-sing food p r o d u c t i o n is t h e way t o s o l v e t h e problem. B r o i l e r p r o d u c t i o n is a good s o u r c e of p r o t e i n r e q u i r e d f o r huma.n consumption. A well designed b r o i l e r house seems t o be an important f a c t o r t o i n c r e a s e t h e b r o i l e r p r o d u c t i o n . The environment i n s i d e t h e b r o i l e r house is a l s o a n o t h e r dependent f a c t o r . The p r e s e n t s t u d y was conducted t o s t u d y t h e construction of b r o i l e r house and t h e environment within it. The g e n e r a l o b j e c t i v e w a s t o optimize the b r o i l e r house d e s i g n t o be a t t h e optimum l e v e l of c o n t r o l l i n g t h e ambient e n v i r o n m e n t . I n a d d i t i o n t o show t h e energy r e q u i r e m e n t s of h e a t i n g and c o o l i n g and making for reducing t h e s e requirements w i t h o u t any s a c r i f i c e of t h e d e s i r e d environment. The p r e s e n t s t u d y was conducted on two i n t e g r a t e d p a r t s . The f i r s t p a r t w a s a f i e l d expe.riments.1 grt:tt:er_f13re ft2r controlling the environment inside a chicken house. One of the o b j e c t i v e s was to c o l l e c t the r~bserva.t;ion data needed t o complete the second p a r t . The second p a r t was a s i m u l a t i o n procedure t o study t h e b r o i l e r house and its interaction with the brt:tilt._..ru themf;elvs.r; as at-1 enerE5Y exchanging system. Another objective was to predict t h e r e q u i r e m e n t s of heating and ct2oling l o a d s through the b i r d l i f e c y c l e f o r an e n t i r e year under l o c a l c o n d i t i o n s .
