Abstract
The thesis comprises six main Chapters : Chapter 1 : A literature survey on the chemistry and properties of chitosan . Chapter 2 : Describes the preparation of the modified polymers under investigation . Chapter 3 : Describe the preparation and characterization of N-(piphenylmethylidenyl) chitosan polymer . Chapter 4 : Includes the preparation and thermal analysis of N-(methylphenylmethylidenyl) chitosan polymer . Chapter 5 : Describe the preparation and thermal degradation of N-cinamoyl chitosan polymer . Chapter 6 : Includes the preparation , characterization and thermal degradation of N-(phenylacetyl) chitosan polymer .
