Abstract This study carried out during 2001 2003 at the farm of agricultural faculty, Mansoura University (clay soil) and (sandy soil) in Kalabsho farm to determine and evaluate the performance conventional and dual tractor under different Egyptian conditions using two soil types (clayey and sandy soil). The study determine and evaluate the contact area, degree of soil compaction, mobility number, dynamic traction ratio, and penetration resistance and their effect on drowbar pull and tractor efficiency. Conclusion To obtain the lowest values of power loss in travel reduction must be use the dual tire tractor (water filled) at 90 kPa tire pressure and 2.3 km/h forward speed it gave the lowest values in both soil types. The results indicated that increasing forward speed tends to increasing power loss in travel reduction. The dual tire tractor water filled at 90 kPa tire pressure and 2.3 km/h forward speed gave the less value in slip ratio in both types of soil. The dynamic weight increased by increasing the additional ballast (water filled tire <U+2013> dual tire) on rear wheel of tractor. The additional ballast tends to increasing the dynamic weight which effect on drawbar pull. The dual tire tractor (air filled) gave the less value of degree of soil compaction in both soil types under using 90 kPa tire pressure. The dual tire (water filled) at 90 kPa tire pressure and 2.3 km/h forward speed gave the greatest values of drawbar power and the highest values of pull / weight ratio. |
