Abstract Ortho - amphibolite rocks crop out at the northern part of the study area covering a relatively small area (4.0 Km2). It occurs as isolated hills and as bands inclosed in metasediments. They are composed essentially of hornblende, plagioclase (An32-34), quartz and relics of pyroxene with accessory epidote, sphene and opaques. The rock is metamorphosed in the lower amphibolite facies with relict igneous fabric. |
