Abstract This work was carried out at Baramon Horticulture Research Farm, Dakahlia Governorate during the 1995/96 and 1996/97 growing seasons to study the effect of some inlercropping systems (snap bean intercropped with garlic) and nitrogen level on certain growth characters, total yield and yield components, some chemical composition, competitIOn parameters and net income from both crops. Snap bean seeds were sown on September 1 st and 5th of the first and the second seasons, respectively, whereas garlic cloves were planted after one month from sowing snap bean seeds in the same seasons. A split-plot in a randomized complete block design system with four replications was used. The mam plots were assigned to intercropping systems, while the sub-plots were devoted to the nitrogen level. |
