Abstract The present work was carried out to study the influence of temperature extremes on certain biological activities, particularly fecundity, of the cotton leaf worm, Spodoptera Littoralis (Boisd) In an orientation test, one day-old and five days-old pupae were exposed to different temperature degrees the aim was to determine from the results obtained it may be concluded that : 1. High temperature can be utilized to induce sterility as a means of control of the test insect, the most suitable temperature for this purpose lies about 38c. 2. Thermosterilization of males seems to be the most effective on the biotic potencies of the offspring. |
