Abstract The aim of the work: The aim of this essay to review a literature concerning selective laser trabeculoplasty in the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and including its advantages, and disadvantages in comparison with argon laser trabeculoplasty. Selective laser trabeculoplasty is increasingly being used to lower IOP in clinical practice. The reported average reduction in IOP from pretreatment intraocular pressure ranges from 18% to 40%, over a follow-up period of 6-12 months. It can be used alternative to argon laser trabeculoplasty. Conclusion: Selective laser trabeculoplasty is a safe & effective outpatient procedure and is easy to perform with no serious side effect |
