Abstract The present investigation was carried out in green house during the growing season of 1999 at Rice Research and Training Center Sakha-Kafer El-Sheikh. This investigation aimed to study the effect of N-sources and N-levels on rice growth, rice yield and its component, chemical compositions of rice and NO3 and NH4 concentration in soil and drainage water. A split plot design with three replications was used in this study. The main plots were sources of nitrogen ( urea, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate and diammonium phosphate). Four levels of nitrogen (0.30.60 and 90kg/fed). Occupied the sub plots. Each added after 15 days after transplanting and one third after 30 day after transplanting. Plant samples were taken at maximum tillering stage, panicle initiation stage ( for determined N concentration in rice plant ) and harvest stage ( for determined chemical composition of rice plant ). Both drainage water and soil samples were taken during different growth stages of rice plants to determine the concentration of NH4-N and NO3-N ions. Some number ( 10hill) from each pots was harvest for yield determination. Yield and its components, chemical composition and other parameters were recorded. |
