Abstract
The present work deals with the mechanical, mineralogical, petrological and geochemical investigations carried out by the author on the subsurface sediments of well No. 4 of Abu Madi gas field, Nile Delta. The succession involved in the study is about 3549 m thick and ranges in age from the quaternary to the middle miocene, adopting the stratigraphic classification suggested by the international Egyption Oil Company (1969).
