Abstract This study was conducted at the Rabbits Unit belonging to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Wealth Development, Faculty ofThis study was conducted at the Rabbits Unit belonging to the Department of Animal Husbandry Veterinary Medicine, Mansoura University, during the period extended from September 2007 until June 2008. The experimental flock divided after the first kindling into six groups and each group consists of four does of NZW rabbits. The first group in which does remated first day post-partum and their litters weaned at 25 days of age; the second group in which does remated first day post-partum and their litters weaned at 35 days of age; the third group in which does remated 5th day post-partum and their litters weaned at 25 days of age; the forth group in which does remated 5th day post-partum and their litters weaned at 35 days of age; the fifth group in which does remated 10th day post-partum and their litters weaned at 25 days of age and the sixth group in which does remated 10th day post-partum and their litters weaned at 35 days of age. In general, does mated 5th day post-partum and their litters weaned at 35 days weaning age had the highest body weights, RGR%, average DG, carcass traits and litter traits. In addition, does mated 10th day post-partum and their litters weaned at 35 days weaning age had a higher percentage of carcass traits and the reproductive traits of does. |
