Abstract Endometriosis is defined as a proliferation and functioning of endometrial tissue outside the uter¬ine cavity. It is a misterious disease in the field of gynaecology , and mainly affects females in the child bearing years. The steadily increasing frequency and significance of such disease in recent years ere attributed to sociologic changes peculiar tot he civilization, of this century and influencing profoundly the pattern of reproductive function of the modern femele. Many theories were put to explain the aetiology of endometriosis , but no one of these can explain all location of tile azeease, frevloagy, but more g gp theory was more attractive, but more recently the genetic I familial and autoimmune theories have been added. Classification of endometriosis would greatly facilitate not only evaluation of therapy, but the selection of appropriate treatment for an individual patient. Although several classifications have been proposed, it is probably fair to say that, up to the present time, there is no agreement on this matter. |
