Abstract This study aims to increase quality and quantity of oil sunflower (Helianthus annus) yield as it exposed to drought conditions to overcome pathogens and problems resulted from the increase in soil moisture and this by foliar sprays of boron and calcium. Drought applied at seed filling stage, the most sensitive stage in water and mineral demand, and this resulted in decrease in yield in quantity and quality and reduced seed protein and lipid content and weight of 1000 seed, moreover increased the number of unfilled seeds. On the other hand, boron and calcium foliar spray lead to increased in quantity and quality as it increased the weight of 1000 seeds and the protein and lipid content compared with control level. Moreover, there were many molecular changes in seed protein electrophoresis, the number of peroxidase isozymes and differential display for seeds RNA. |
