المستخلص Media in its different forms whether readable, listenable or viewable play an important role in transferring information among different communities and cultures. The importance of media role has been increased in the recent time in synchronization with the huge technological evolution in the satellites era. The Arabian media especially overcame the national phase and reached the international phase. It was not present the entertainment role only, but it is considered as one of important sources of information. The current study aimed at achieving the following objectives: 1- Identifying some socio-economic and religious characteristics related to the male and female sample individuals in the study villages. 2- Identifying the sample individuals’ personal, entertainment, social, cultural and thinking motivation of watching Arabic and foreign satellite channels, in addition to the achieved objectives from watching these channels and the other channels transmitted over the satellites. 3- Identifying the effect of the values, ideas and behaviors presented through the satellite channels on the sample individuals. 4- Identifying the viewing attitudes of sample individuals in the study villages (individual attitudes, familial attitudes, social attitudes, value attitudes). 5- Exploring the effect of exposure to satellite channels on the value system of the Egyptian community from the sample individuals’ point of views (religious values, social values, political values, economic values, belonging values, moral values, freedom values, scientific values, sincerity and excellence in work). 6- Identifying the positive and negative effect of satellite channel on the patterns of social and cultural behaviors of Egyptian audience (actual attitude) and measuring it on the past and current situations from the sample individuals’ point of views. 7- Identifying the positive and negative effect of satellite channel on the patterns of social and cultural behaviors of Egyptian audience (expected attitude) and measuring it on the past and current situations from the sample individuals’ point of views. 8- Identifying the effect of exposure to satellite channels on the knowledge structure and its different dimensions (familial knowledge, health knowledge, educational knowledge, economic knowledge, political knowledge, religious knowledge, social knowledge, sexual knowledge). The current study was carried out on a sample amounting to 370 female and male sample individuals. The sample was selected randomly from three villages at Damietta governorate; whereas 150 female and male sample individuals were selected from EL-Arida village (Developed village), 120 female and male sample individuals were selected from Oum EL-Reda AL-Gadidah village (Transitional village), and 100 female and male sample individuals were selected from EL-Saediah EL-Bahriah village (Traditional village). A personal interview questionnaire was used to collect the data of the current study from sample individuals. The study questionnaire included questions which measure the studied variables. Frequencies, percentages and Chi-Square test (2) were sued as statistical analysis tools to extract the study findings. |
