Abstract

The course of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is heterogeneous, extending from mild forms tending to remission and reacting well to treatment, to aggressive forms resistant to classical therapeutic measures Aim of work: To find out the predictive factors affecting the outcome of RA patients assessed at baseline and after follow up in response to treatment. These factors are: 1) -Disease activity (both clinical and laboratory markers) -Functional status. -Quality of life. -Anti-CCP antibody –RF -X-ray finding -MRI imaging.. Results: Factors with significant predictive value for erosion progression as assessed by OMERACT MRI score arranged in a descending manner are as follows: Bone marrow edema score , anti-CCP titer , bone erosion score, DAS28 score, Synovitis score, modified Larsen score of plain X-ray and RF. Conclusion: Bone destruction can progress, even in apparent clinical remission.
