Abstract The present study aimed at investigating the effect of a proposed ’’ Interactive Web Sites ’’ on developing first year Computer Department students at Damietta Faculty of Specific Education .The problem of the study was stated in this question ’’To what extent is a suggested Interactive Web Sites Program effective in developing Computer department students’ reading and writing skills in the faculties of Specific Education? Subjects of the study were freshmen students enrolled in Computer Department in the academic year 2006 / 2007. They were randomly assigned to two groups; experimental and control groups. The experimental consisted of twenty five students while, the control group consisted of twenty students. A preliminary pilot study consisted of three questionnaires implemented by the researcher for assessing the real needs of the students of studying English language skills. Based on the results of the pilot study a reading-writing skill list was designed and approved by jury members. Based on these reading-writing skills, a reading-writing skills test was developed and used as a pre-post test.
