Abstract
Summary of the work: The material o~ the present study comprised 40 patients with EH as a test group, 16 males and 24 ~emales with age ranging ~rom 35 to 55 years (mean 46.5±6.4 years) • A control group (15) o~ age and sex matched healthy subjects were also examined. Cases were selected ~rom out patient cardiovascular cli~ic of Mansoura University Hospital The hypertensive patients were subdivided into two groups according to the echocardiographic criteria of left ventricular hypertrophy. Group II Included 20 patients with established hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Group III Included 20 patients with established hypertension without LVH. All patients were subjected to thorough history taking, clinical examination as well as some laboratory investigations
