Abstract

Hemiptern insect pests is considered an important pests of many agricultural crops such as cowpea, maize and broad bean plants. from the study we found that Nezara viridula formed the highest population density of hemipterous insect pests on cowpea, maize and broad bean plants. The aim of this study to survey the major hemipterous insect pests and their associated natural enemies on the three crops. The most important natural enemies were Coccinella undecimpunctata, Orius albidipennis and Trissolcus basalis. Trissolcus basalis is used for controlling Nezara viridula egg masses in a wild field. In these study T. basalis is reared at three different temperature and N. viridula egg masses were kept under low temperature for different period and release T. basalis to different ratio of N. viridula egg masses. Today, biological control is an increasingly important component of integrated pest management (IPM) programs for agriculture as well as for urban environments.
Therefore, the objectives of the current study were to:
1-Survey the major hemipterous insect pests and their associated natural enemies on cowpea, maize and broad bean plants.
2-Determine the seasonal abundance of hemipterous insect pests and their associated natural enemies.
3-Study the effect of certain weather factors on the seasonal abundance of hemipterous insect pests and their associated natural enemies.
4-Reared T. basalis at three different temperature to know the favorite tem. for it.
5-Storage N. viridula egg masses under low tem. to know the availability of it after storage to parasitism.
6-Release T. basalis to different ratio of N. viridula egg masses to know the effect of host different ratio in parasitism.
