Abstract Thesis includes two parts Part I: This part is assigned to study the corrosion behavior of aluminum in 0.1M Hydrochloric acid and the inhibiting effect of some amine compounds by using chemical method (weight loss method) and by electrochemical method (polarization method and Impedance method) at 25oC. The obtained results showed that the inhibition efficiency of these compounds increased by increasing their concentration and decreased by raising the temperature, so that the adsorption of these compounds is physical and the adsorption of the used compounds on aluminum surface in 0.1M HCl follows Frumkin’s adsorption isotherm. The influence of chemical structure of these pharmaceutical compounds on their inhibition efficiencies was discussed. Part II: Use polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane ion-selective electrodes for determination of Propranolol and flunarizine either in pure solution or in pharmaceutical preparations. Study different experimental parameters affecting the electrode sensitivity, reproducibility and stability such as effect of the drug concentration in the membrane, electrode temperature, pH of the medium, soaking time, presence of foreign cations and effect of surfactants. |
