Abstract

Renal failure is one of the most common problems in Egypt, where the most common underlying cause is urinary Bilbarzias2s. Other common aetiologies all over the world include: Hypertension, glomerulonephritis infections, congenital kidney diseases .. etc most patients with advanced renal failure demonstrate evidence of malnutrition. It is tempting to suggest that morbidity and possibly mortality might be reduced if patients are well nourished.Disorders of vitamin status are frequently encountered in uraemic patients. In the present study/44 patients with renal failure were selected. of these,10 patients were managed conservatively (7 males and 3 females) and 34 cases were undergoing regular haemodialysis (27 males and 7 f ema les) ,from this group 12 patients were subjected to renal transplantation. In addition 10 normal subjects were chosen as a reference group (7 males and 3 f emales) -They had matched age with the ill gruop.
