Abstract
Twenty-four adult lactating female rabbits were used in this study. They were classified into six groups (I-VI), each comprises four animals. The animals of Group VI were used as control, while those of groups I-V were treated with vincristine as follows: Animals of Group I were given a single dose. Animals of Group II were given two doses with one week interval. Were given three doses at weekly Animals of Group III intervals. <Animals of Group IV were given four doses at weekly intervals Animals of Group V were, also, given four injections of the drug but they were left to become pregnant again, deliver and then lactate (about seven weeks after the last .dose of vincristine). The animals from Group I to Group IV were sacrificed one week after the last dose of vincristine. Those of Group V-seven weeks after the last dose. At each time one control animal was sacrificed. The mammary glands were dissected and specimens were prepared for paraffin sections and stained by haematoxyl and eosin (Hex & E), PAS stain and Gomori’s method for alkaline phosphates enzyme. Other specimens were cut frozen and stained.
