Abstract
This research was carried out on six complete
edentulous patients to study the effect of different
impression rnaterials, used for locating the neutral zone on
neutralization of cheek and tongue pressures.
For this purpose upper and lower modified acrylic
occlusion rims were constructed. The rims were occluded
together with upstanding flanges for supporting the
impression materials . These includes tissue conditioner,
Zn.o.E., rubber base impression materials. After tnodeling
the iinpression buccal and lingual strain gauges were
cemented in pre-determined impression surface and F.F.T.
analyzer record was used to measure both cheek and tongue
pressures as two separate strains once patient swallows.
