Abstract This work is a retrospective study of 89 patients with soft tissue sarcomas registered in the Radiotherapy Department of Mansoura University Hospital during the period 1977-1982 inclusive * This work includes the various clinical, epidemiological features and treatment received in cases of soft tissue sarcomas 0 ’tr> ”It was found that the relative frequency of soft tissue sarcomas to all malignancies recorded during the 4 same period was 3*5 % and its relative frequency among males was 4.2 % and among females was 2.9% . The male to female ratio was found to be 1.4 : 1 The peak age incidence of soft tissue sarcomas was in the second decade for males, with a mean age of 32.7 + 19.7 years, and in the third decade for females with a mean age of 37.4 ± 17.4 years . The age range for males was 4-69 years and for females was 4-72 years • • Most of patients (62.9%) were presented with post-operative scars after surgery (radical or simple). |
