Abstract

Sixty consecutive variceal bleeders were randomly subjected to selective distal splenorenal shunt (n=20) or endoscopic variceal sclerotherapy (n=20)or endoscopic variceal sclerotherapy.
In this study, sixty patients were selected from patients with esophageal varices bleeding random choice for the treatment of one of the following ways:
The delivery of the splenic vein left renal vein (twenty patients).
- The process of splenectomy and connecting feeder veins of the stomach and the lower part of the esophagus (twenty patients).
- Injection varicose Almlae and using optical telescope and ethanol material Amin Firsts (twenty patients).
Prior to medical treatment has been detected on these patients and screened in the following ways:
- Various laboratory tests including examination of signs of hepatitis ”B”.
- Gastroscope.
- Radiology ultrasound on the belly.
- Radiology sympathetically on the portal vein.
- Examination of the chest, heart and nervous system.
- Examine a sample of liver tissue.
