Abstract Numerous EGG and serum biochemical disturbances have been observed in the uraemic patients which may be a con¬sequence of associated cardiovascular affection, hyperten¬sion or other conditions particularly electrolyte altera¬tions . Autoimmune reactions have been incriminated in the pathogenesis of certain varieties of chronic renal failure and hence the idea of trying corticosteroids in such cases owing to their immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory actions 0 This work was carried out on 28 patients suffering from CRP (24 males and 4 females), their mean age was 33 o5 years, in addition to 10 control subjects (7 males and 3 females ), with a mean age 29.9 years . All cases were subjected to thorough history taking clinical examination, and the following investigations had been carried out : complete blood picture, urine and stool analysis, blood urea, serum creatinine, fasting blood sugar, serum electrolytes (sodium, potassium, cal¬cium, and phosphorus ), liver function tests, E0C0G. , and plain chest and heart X-ray . |
