Abstract Three hundred and sixty Hubbard chick of one day old were housed into 9 pens and fed the experimental diets. The experimental arrangement consisted to study the effect of fat source, level and enzymes supplement on growth performance. Body weight of the chicks and consumed diets were weekly recorded and the feed conversion ratio was calculated. Blood samples were collected and blood smears were prepared for determination the heterophil : lymphocyte ratios. At the end of experiments, 5 chicks from each group slaughtered for studying the histopathological changes. The results of the study revealed that: Feeding the broiler chicks on soybean oil containing (3 or 6%) diets resulted in better growth performance in comparing to those fed the dried fat supplemented diets. Enzymes supplementation did not consistantly improve body weight gain or feed / gain ratio in the broiler chicks fed diets supplemented with either soybean oil or dried fat diets. Addition of enzymes to the basal diets resulted in improving the growth performance of the broilers fed the low ME containing which resulted in nearly similar growth performance as those fed the soybean oil supplemented diets, indicating a significant effect of enzymes supplementation to such diet which had lower metabolizable energy than that recommended for the broiler chickens. |
