Abstract The present study aimed to raise the average of squash yield per feddan, as well as to decrease chemical nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers consumption, by using the organic manure fertilizer (chicken manure) and biofertilizer (Nitrobein + Microbein + Phosphorein), consequently, reducing the environmental contamination with nitrate by decreasing the nitrogen accumulation in squash leaves and fruits, and minimizing the concentration of NO3N in the drainage water and in the ground water, which have higher NO3N concentration than the safe critical limit for drinking water (10 ppm). Consequently, it can be increase the net return of squash per feddan with keeping the safty and health of consumer. The 50 and 25% from recommended NP plus the three mentioned biofertilizers (nitrobein, phosphorein and microbein) with the rate of 2 to 3 kg from each per feddan were the best treatments followed by (chicken manure at 10 m3/fed + 3 kg nitrobein + 3 kg phosphorein / fed), which improved vegetative growth characteristics, plant chemical contents, flowering parameters, fruit characters and quality and produced highest total yield with the best quality of squash fruits |
