Abstract The Progress in automatic control and the wide use of gyroscopes and gyrostats as stabilizing and inicating elements in cosmic and terrestrial navigation had stimulated interest in the recent years to the study of gyroscopic systems. Even in the simplest case of such system, i. e. in the case of the motion of a rigid body about a fixed point, the problem is associated with great analytical difficulties. |
