Abstract S1l11l11W/JI and Conclusioll Sum/nary and Conclusion This study is a retrospective analysis for 1/6 patients of laryngeal carcinoma registered in Clinical Oncology & Nuclear Medicine and E.N.T Departments, Mansoura University Hospital during the period 1990-1999, inclusive. This work includes the various clinico-epidemiological features and different treatment modalities used in laryngeal carcinoma, and to identify different prognostic factors that affect the survival of the patients. Laryngeal carcinoma represented 0.8% of all malignancies, and 8.5% of all head and neck malignancies during the same period. The median age of the patients was 60 year. A male to female ratio was 22: 1. History of smoking was found in 62.9% of the cases. The main . presenting symptom was hoarseness of voice. Glottic carcinomas formed the majority of c" ~ "se:, about 44.8%. Squamous cell carcinoma was the commonest pathology in 95%. GJ . was the commonest tumor grade in 46.6% of the cases. The majority of cases was T3 which formed 43.1 % of the cases. |
