Abstract Renovascular disease are the most frequent cause of secondary hypertension, several non invasive methods have been advocated to screen renovascular disease. The risks of iodinated contrast material limited definitive diagnosis of renal artery stenosis, so CT and DSA are limited by risks associated with iodinated contrast material and ionizing radiation. Color coded duplex Doppler US non invasive, inexpensive and sensitive but not specific. MRA is relatively new technique that. has been evolving rapidly over the last several years. MRA is established as an accurate and safe technique for evaluation of the main renal’ artery and vein, it is possible to evaluate patients with renal failure. allergy to iodinated contrast material or difficult arterial access and patients in whom conventional arteriography can not be performed. Our study aims to evaluate the role of different techniques of renal MRA and of colour Doppler sonography in diagnosis of renal vascular and to compare the accuracy of each imaging modality. When we try to diagnose renovascular disease we must consider the vascular anatomy, arterial and venous distribution in the kidney, anatomical vascular development and vascular variations. |
